A DNA sequence encoding the human RPS6KA2 isoform 1 (Q15349-1) (Met 1-Leu 733) was fused with the GST tag at the N-terminus.

> 84 % as determined by SDS-PAGE

The specific activity was determined to be 41 nmol/min/mg using synthetic RSK peptide (KRRRLSSLRA) as substrate.

The recombinant human RPS6KA2/GST chimera consists of 957 amino acids and migrates as an approximatly 110 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions as predicted.

Ribosomal protein S6 kinase alpha-2

Serine/threonine-protein kinase that acts downstream of ERK (MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK3/ERK1) signaling and mediates mitogenic and stress-induced activation of transcription factors, regulates translation, and mediates cellular proliferation, survival, and differentiation. May function as tumor suppressor in epithelial ovarian cancer cells.
