A DNA sequence encoding the human NPC2 (NP_006423.1) (Met1-Leu151) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The recombinant human NPC2 consists of 143 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 16 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 18-24 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
