蛋白描述
Recombinant Human KLHDC2 Protein (aa 1-406) is a high-purity, stable fragment of Kelch domain-containing protein 2, designed for structural and biochemical studies. This product encompasses the full-length protein's functional domain, enabling research into its role as a substrate-recognition component in the DesCEND pathway, which targets C-terminal diglycine motifs for ubiquitin-mediated degradation.
Kelch domain-containing protein 2 (KLHDC2), also known as Hepatocellular carcinoma-associated antigen 33 or Host cell factor-like protein 1, is a nucleus-localized protein that serves as the substrate-recognition component of a Cul2-RING (CRL2) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex in the DesCEND pathway. This pathway identifies C-degron motifs, specifically proteins ending with a diglycine (Gly-Gly) sequence, leading to their ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. KLHDC2 plays a critical role in quality control by targeting truncated selenoproteins (e.g., SELENOK and SELENOS) resulting from failed UGA/Sec
