Recombinant Human DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 1 (DCAF1/VprBP) Fragment (aa 1002-1394) – a highly stable and soluble protein fragment ideal for structural studies, biochemical assays, and functional investigations into E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes and serine/threonine kinase activities.
DCAF1 (VprBP) is a multifunctional protein that serves as both a substrate recognition component of E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes and an atypical serine/threonine-protein kinase. It plays critical roles in cell cycle regulation, telomerase inhibition through TERT degradation, histone modification via phosphorylation of H2A at Thr-120, and error-limiting repair during V(D)J recombination. The protein is involved in key cellular processes including B-cell development, JNK-mediated apoptosis, and oocyte maintenance. During viral infections, DCAF1 is hijacked by HIV-1 Vpr to induce G2 cell cycle arrest and by HIV-2 Vpx to enhance macrophage infection efficiency. The protein localizes to both cytoplasm and nuc
